SRINAGAR: The ruling National Conference party (NC) on Thursday lambasted the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and called it a party “full of anti-Kashmir and opportunistic politicians.”
“It’s proven beyond doubt that PDP was responsible to subvert the Permanent Resident bill after Dar’s joining,” NC Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani said while addressing a workers’ meeting at Damhal Hanji Pora in south Kashmir
Stating that NC didn’t waste time in showing such people door, Wani said “After Dar’s contentious adjournment of the House, NC immediately expelled him from the party.”
He added that the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah had then itself made it clear that the PDP member Dar was instrumental in subverting the passage of the Bill at the behest of the party’s patron, Mufti Muhammad Sayeed.
“With his joining our point has been proven right,” he said.
Wani said the PDP was a party “floated to divide and weaken the Kashmiri society.”
Reiterating the stand of working president Omar Abdullah to relinquish power in favour of the PDP if it came forward with a “certain and categorical solution” to Kashmir issue, Nasir said: “Why don’t you come forward with a certain and categorical solution to Kashmir issue? Our working president is ready to relinquish the office in this regard unlike you whose only agenda is to grab power by hook or by crook.”
“With every statement you are trying to hoodwink the people but remember people have understood your only agenda of grabbing power.”
