SRINAGAR: Union ministry of tourism has sanctioned an amount of Rs 7.26 crore for the construction of Hostel Block of Institute of Hotel Management Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition in the Kashmir valley.
An official spokesman said here today that Union Secretary for Tourism Parvez Dewan laid the foundation stone of Hostel Block at Indian Institution of Hotel Management, Raj Bagh.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Dewan said the Tourism Ministry has sanctioned an amount of Rs 726.30 lakh for the construction of Hostel Block of Institute of Hotel Management Catering Technology & Applied Nutrition.
The infrastructure to be raised and the facilities to be provided to the students include language Lab, Laundry, Board Room and Hostel Support Services.
The Union Secretary directed the PWD (R&B) to complete the project within stipulated time frame so that the construction work benefits the students and the courses scheduled to be taught are started at proper time.
The R&B Department had submitted the estimated cost of Rs 7.35 crore and accordingly the administrative approval was given to the said construction agency.
Mr Parvez stressed upon the construction agencies to complete the work with zeal and dedication, and further said there is no shortage of funds, however he impressed upon the executing agency to utilise the funds judiciously.
