‘We are very serious about it’ : ACR
SRINAGAR: Hundreds of Dal dwellers in Kashmir capital Srinagar on Tuesday alleged that the authorities were deliberately delaying execution of their rehabilitation process.
President of Dal Zameendar Union, Abi Karpora, Dole Damb, Muhammad Shafi Kuloo said the Assistant revenue Commissioner, Srinagar, was assigned the task of verifying the status of persons residing in Dal Lake “and even as the process is complete he is not executing the work.”
“Our documents have been checked and rechecked by all the concerned departments including Directorate of Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution. But the said officer is causing delay and is demanding the hefty sums from poor people,” Kuloo said.
He appealed the Authorities and Revenue Minister to look into the matter and to seek explanation from the said officer.
However, the Officer, Ghulam Jeelani Zargar said he has called a meeting in this regard on Wednesday.
“We will get the records authenticated. Delay is inevitable as it is a cumbersome process to ascertain the physical verification of all the dwellers,” he said adding that Divisional Commissioner Kashmir has already constituted a committee to get these dwellers rehabilitated at Rakh Arth.
