SRINAGAR: One person died after he inhaled fumes coming out of a charcoal heater in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district, officials said on Wednesday.
The man, was sleeping at his home in Manzgam village where a bukhaari – heating equipment using charcoal – was installed.
He was found dead in the morning, apparently after fumes from the heater had filled the poorly ventilated room overnight.
Temperatures have dipped in Kashmir after fresh snowfall in the upper reaches.
