SRINAGAR: Fresh avalanche warnings have been issued in the Kashmir valley and Ladakh region following fresh snowfall.
Officials said on Wednesday that following fresh snowfall on the upper reaches, there is danger of avalanches occurring during the next 24 hours.
They have advised people living in snow bound areas of Gulmarg, Chowkibal and Tangdhar not to venture out in steep slopes, with a high-risk of avalanches.
Accordingly, medium danger avalanche warning has been issued for the snow bound areas of Uri, Nowgam, Keran, Machil, Bandipora, Gurez in north Kashmir and Sonamarg, Drass and Kargil in Ladakh region.
However, in case of emergency, extra precautions should be taken to avoid any accident, officials said.
