MUZAFFARABAD, Jan 17 (2000): An avalanche swept away an army post in the Pakistan-ruled part of the disputed Kashmir region on Monday, burying 10 soldiers, army sources said.
They said rescuers had not yet found any survivors. The avalanche struck the post at Nekron in the Neelum Valley near a military control line dividing the Himalayan region between India and Pakistan.
Those buried by the avalanche included an army captain, said the sources in Muzaffarabad, capital of Pakistan-ruled Kashmir.
The area received heavy snowfall last week after months of drought.
