JAMMU: Nearly 80,000 vacant posts will be filled through a fast-track recruitment process and a special consultant has been engaged to assist the Service Selection Recruitment Board (SSRB) for this, authorities said Thursday.
“SSRB is proceeding in a speedy manner by advertising posts, notifying, conducting written exams and holding interviews in a time bound manner. As regards the promotion quota vacancies, instructions have been given to all Departments to hold DPCs in a time bound manner,” Finance Minister told the Legislative Assembly.
“Fundamental objective of new recruitment policy is to reduce exponential growth of Non-Plan expenditure which is effective for the posts advertised after 1st November, 2011.”
Rather said that pursuant to a cabinet decision, a Standing Committee has been constituted to examine the modalities for the proposed future recruitment against Class IV, III and other Non-Gazetted posts in an a fixed salary mode in order to reduce the exponential growth of salaries and connected Non-Plan expenditure.
He said the recommendations of the Standing Committee for adoption of the New Recruitment Policy were accepted by the government and orders were issued.
According to the new recruitment policy, for an initial period of 5 years of service, pay of direct recruits shall be regulated as per fixed monthly salary, the minister said.
“Direct recruits shall be entitled to the benefits under Medical Allowance Rules, Leave Rules etc. Appointments are governed by Rules of Probation, disciplinary rules and pension contribution under New Pension Scheme.”

The Minister said that the direct recruits under the New Recruitment Policy shall be entitled to temporary move allowance on their posting in any move office. “Such recruits recruited shall also be entitled to washing allowance, uniform allowance/kit maintenance allowance and any other allowance whenever applicable.”
