SRINAGAR: A 65-year-old man committed suicide in northern Kashmir’s Baramulla district, police say.
Ghulam Qadir consumed some poisonous substance at his home in Noorkha village. He died at the medical institute in Srinagar on Thursday.
His family has told the police that Qadir was on medication prescribed by doctors at the psychiatric hospital.
“They told us that he took an overdose of the medicine. Doctors have mentioned in their report that he died due to a poisonous substance.
“We are investigating into the case,” Ali Hussain, Station House Officer (SHO) Bijhama told freepresskashmir.
Qadir is survived by two sons and six daughters, four of whom are unmarried.
