SRINAGAR: The police in Kashmir have released fifty youth arrested on charges of throwing stones during violent anti-India protests, as a goodwill gesture on Shab-e-Qadar.
A local news agency KNS, quoting sources, reports that 24 alleged stone pleters were released by the Srinagar city police (north) while 14 were released by the city’s south zone police.
Another 12 were released by the Hazratbal police.
The agency reports that the police have appealed to parents of the youth to make it sure that their children don’t indulge in stone pelting again.
