JAMMU: Ten teachers were suspended by the Chief Education Officer after they were found absent from duty in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.
CEO Poonch Abdul Majid Fani on Saturday conducted surprise checking of various schools in Poonch district and found 10 teachers absent from duty, an official here today said.
He said one Headmaster was also placed under suspension for lapse and apparently giving chance to the absent teachers to mark their attendance next day.
The CEO had suspended teachers of Government Middle School, Dalera, Government High School Khanetar, Government Primary School Heelan Kalai and Government Middle School Sheen Dharra Jan Aara.
The CEO had sought explanation from the suspended teachers, he added.
