SRINAGAR: Police say they have arrested a woman in Srinagar who had kidnapped a baby girl one month ago.
The baby has also been rescued.
According to the police the woman Rubina, a resident of Rampora area in Chattabal, had kidnapped a baby from Mazhama village in central Kashmir’s Budgam district on March 30.
The police had launched a massive search for the kidnapper and the missing baby.
“Today the SHO Magam Rouf Bazaz received a tip off in this regard; a team led by him recovered the missing girl from her kidnapper,” the statement reads.
“The lady has been arrested. The missing girl was handed over to her parents who hailed the efforts of the police in searching their girl.”
