SRINAGAR: A 40-year-old woman has committed suicide in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district, police say.
The woman consumed poison at her home in Kanjikulla village late last night. She was shifted to the Medical Institute in Srinagar where she breathed her last today.
Why the woman committed suicide is not immediately known, but the police said in a statement that they have registered a case and begun investigations.
In another incident, a 60-year-old woman tried to commit suicide by consuming poison in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
She was taken to the Shri Maharaja Hari Singh hospital in Srinagar where she is being treated.
