SRINAGAR: The paramilitary Border Security Forces (BSF) on Monday dismissed a media report that its men were part of the recent counter-infiltration operations in Shalabhatu area in Keran Sector of north Kashmir.
In a press statement, BSF has termed a news item appearing in a section of media as “fabricated” and said that no posts like Khokhri, Kulari and Mangerta on the LoC “are or were ever manned by BSF (sic)”.
“Neither were these said posts reoccupied jointly with the army after the conclusion of the said operations on October 8.”
Clarifying its position regarding Army’s recent operations in Shalabhatu, the BSF said that that its men are indeed deployed on the LoC in Kashmir under Army’s 15 Corps, “but we were not associated by Army in any way in the operation.”
The BSF has asked local newspapers in state “to verify and cross-check details before publishing anything pertaining to the BSF in future.”
