SRINAGAR: Two more policemen have been arrested by the police in an extortion case in Srinagar.
Four policemen had already been arrested, police said last Thursday, after a man complained that some men in uniform had forcibly taken Rs 50,000 from him.
The complainant, Shabir Ahmed Bhat is a resident of Lachmanpora in Batmaloo area of the city and the incident had happened at Solina, a few miles away, late on April 3.
Officials have told the United News of India that all the six accused policemen have been paraded before the victim who identified them in a police station here.
A civilian has also been arrested in the case, the UNI reports. The policemen have been suspended from duty.
