SRINAGAR: At least 18 people, including tourists, have been injured in two road accidents in south Kashmir.
Eight tourists from Calcutta sustained injuries after their taxi overturned at Chandenwari, 16 kms from the tourist resort Pahalgam.
Most of them have received minor wounds. “Only one woman Impa Nag, about 44 years old, wife of Sajeet Nag was referred to Bone and Joints Hospital, Srinagar for further treatment,” a police spokesman said.
In Kulgam district, nine passengers were injured after a minibus, travelling from DH Pora village to Kulgam town, overturned at Matergam. The driver of the bus has also been injured.
Station House Officer, Kulgam, Rafiq Ahmed told freepress that it was a speedy bus and its driver lost control after he drove over a ditch.
The police spokesman said all the injured passengers are in a stable condition.
