SRINAGAR: Three militants have been killed as the army foiled their bid to infiltrate from Pakistan-administered Kashmir.
A gunfight between the militants and the army broke out in north Kashmir’s Nowgam sector near the Line of Control late on Saturday.
The Army spokesman, Col Naresh Vij told Freepress that the other militants fled the site, back to where they came from.
There have been a series of firing incidents in the past week at the LoC that divides Kashmir between the two countries.
India says Pakistani troops fired at their troops and violated the ceasefire agreement. It says its troops did not retaliate to at least one ‘provocation’.
