SRINAGAR, Sept 3: A Swiss tourist has died while kayaking in Zanskar, Kargil area of Ladakh region, police say.
They say Ian Beecroft, a tourist to the scenic mountainous region prominent among backpackers for trekking and camping, drowned while rafting over a river from Serchoo to Zanaskar.
“Zanaskar Police fished out the body from the river at Lungnak,” a police spokesperson.
The body of deceased has been kept in Primary Health Centre, Padam for further formalities.
Police have registered a case in this regard.
