SRINAGAR: Moderate faction of the separatist alliance All Parties Hurriyat Conference has said it would raise the issue of Shopian killings by paramilitaries in Kashmir at the 27th annual gathering of United Nations Human Rights Commision (UNHRC) in Geneva.
Human rights defenders from across the globe will be participating in the world body meeting on September 17, 2013.
A statement issued by the Hurriyat led by Mirwaiz Umer Farooq said that a delegation f the alliance present in geneva will present the case of the Shopian incident and “all the statistics of HR violations committed by Indian troops” in Kashmir at the gathering.
The Mirwaiz has also written letters to the permanent members of United Nations Security Council, OIC, and leading members of the European Union, informing them about the shopian killings incidents, “rights violations, and bloodbath of Kashmiris.”
