JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Minister for Housing, Horticulture and Culture, Raman Bhalla today said his government has prepared a comprehensive plan of Rs 600 crore under the Restructured Accelerated Power Development and Reforms Programme (R-APDRP) for improving the power scenario in Jammu city and peripheral areas.
“Government has framed a policy of Rs 600 crore to improve power scenario in Jammu city,” Mr Bhalla told a delegation, who called on him here this afternoon to apprise him of problems related to power supply.
“The project will be started soon after completing the codal formalities by Power Development Department,” he added.
The Minister said the Government was committed to providing improved power supply in metered areas across the State by augmenting and up-grading the infrastructure base.
He also called upon the people to use power judiciously and pay power tariff regularly and warned them against illegal hooking asserting that ‘power theft’ is crime, and people should avoid it.
