Rainfall Likely in J-K in Next 72 Hours

SRINAGAR: There could be rain during the next 72 hours in the state as Western Disturbances (WD) approached the region, the weather department says.

On Friday, the sun played peek-a-boo, but the ski resort of Gulmarg was the coldest in valley with minus 3 degree minimum temperature.

A Met department spokesman said light rain or thundershowers could occur at isolated places over Jammu and Kashmir during the next 24 hours.

He said during the subsequent two days there could be fairly wide spread rain, particularly on Sunday.

At famed health resort of Pahalgam, about 100 km south from here, the minimum was minus 0.4, which was a notch below normal.

In summer capital, Srinagar, the minimum was 6.2 degree, more than two degree above normal. Elsewhere in the valley, the minimum temperature was above normal.
