SRINAGAR: A students body in Kashmir has sought help from Islamic countries of the world against what they said was oppression and tyranny against Muslims in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Kashmir University Students Union (KUSU), a banned students organisation, has condemned the desecration of Quran and subsequent killings of Muslim protesters by the Border Security Force in Gool, Ramban.
“The incident is a testimony to the deep seated hatred that Indian occupation harbours towards the Muslims of Jammu & Kashmir and their faith,” the KUSU said in a mailed statement.
The University students expressed their heartfelt condolences with the bereaved families.
The KUSU called upon the Muslims of the world to “stand up and take notice of the oppression and tyranny the Muslims of J&K are being subjected to by India.”
“Faith and lives of Muslims of J&K have never been secure under Indian occupation and the insecurity is only increasing every day.”
The KUSU has appealed to the Islamic nations to shun their “India-appeasing policies” and to “stand with their brethren in occupied Jammu & Kashmir.”
