SRINAGAR: The ruling National Conference (NC) today submitted a privilege motion against former Chief of the Army (CoA) General V K Singh in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly for his revelations that the Army has been paying money to politicians in the state since 1947.
However, the lone member of the Communist Party of India CPI(M) Mohammad Yousuf Targami suggested that a resolution be moved by all members of the House, demanding the Centre to order a thorough probe into these revelations.
Speaker Mubarak Gul informed the House that he has received a motion against General Singh from the NC.
But, he said, he will take a decision only after going through the motion.
About a proper debate in the House as demanded by the members, Mr Gul said business advisory committee will also take a decision on this.
