SRINAGAR: Panic gripped the city outskirts after a body was found under suspicious circumstances near a bridge, official sources said here today.
They said a large number of people gathered at Tengpora bridge on Srinagar-Baramulla road when the body was found.
Police immediately took away the body, they said, adding the cause of his death was not known.
The deceased was identified as Haji Abdul Rehman Bhat, a local resident of the area.
Police has registered a case and started investigation.
