SRINAGAR: The government in Pakistan-administered Kashmir (PaK) has declared a three-day mourning over the hanging of Afzal Guru who was executed in Delhi’s Tihar jail on Saturday.
A spokesperson for the PaK government, Shaukat Javed Mir said the state flag would fly at half mast during the mourning period, according to the Geo News.
He said all government functions have been suspended for three days.
Earlier hundreds of protesters rallied in capital Muzaffarabad to condemn the execution.
Around 400 protesters burning Indian flags and chanted slogans including “down with India, down with India’s farce democracy, we will continue Guru’s mission”, the AFP reported.
The state of Jammu and Kashmir is divided between two parts, each ruled by India and Pakistan respectively.
