JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Gujjars have decided to suspend milk supply in the winter capital of the state from Wednesday, alleging high handedness of the police and the officials of Jammu Municipal Corporation.
Members of Gujjar community, under the banner of ‘Doodhi Gujjar Association’ in a statement issued here today, said no milk will be supplied at any shop and in residential areas from Wednesday as they were being harassed by the JMC officials.
The Gujjars are on protest against the police for arresting seven members of the community, who allegedly thrashed JMC officials on Saturday while they intercepted their vehicles Gujjars for testing the quality of milk which they had to supply to city shops.
