SRINAGAR: Authorities in Kashmir say there will be no restrictions or curfew in any part of the valley on Saturday.
“We had to impose curfew and restrictions on Friday as a preventive measure, however, I have directed all Deputy Commissioners via video conference that no curfew or restrictions should be imposed on Saturday”, Samoon told a news agency KNS.
However, he said the decision to impose necessary restrictions in any of the districts shall be taken by the respective District Magistrates “depending upon the situation”.
Samoon also said the administration has deputed local magistrates and police officers to accompany paramilitary forces including CRPF during law and order duties.
“We received complaints of excesses and damaging of houses and vehicles from certain areas. To keep check on such incidents, we have deputed magistrates for instructing forces during law and order duties”, he added.
He said the state government has already directed police and security forces to exercise maximum restraint while dealing with protestors and stone pelters. “The forces have been exercising maximum restraint which in evident from the fact that hundreds of policemen have got injured during law and order duties,” he added.
