SRINAGAR: New Delhi has sanctioned Rs 1312.64 crore for 108 projects in Jammu and Kashmir under Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM).
Out of the sanctioned amount, 548 crores have been expended so far, officials told the United News of India.
Under urban transport 26.40 crores have been approved for procurement of 150 buses, 75 each for Jammu and Srinagar cities.
They said that under Urban Infrastructure Development for Small and Medium Towns (UIDSSMT), Rs 217 crore have been incurred so far out of the sanctioned funds of Rs 424.42 crore approved for 47 projects.
Work on five projects of Rs 162.39 crore taken up under Basic Services to Urban Poor (BSUP) programme is in progress with expenditure of Rs 26.80 crore, the officials added.
Under Integrated Housing and Slum Development Programme (IHSDP), the Centre has approved 50 schemes costing Rs 147.60 crore against which Rs 66.07 crore have been expended so far.
