SRINAGAR: A mild earthquake has jolted the Kashmir valley Wednesday evening, although no damage has been reported.
The quake, whose magnitude is not immediately known, occurred at 2020 hrs IST, officials said, although some reports said it measured 4.9 on the richter scale.
It was felt more in the Punjab-Haryana region.
Its epicentre has been traced to Afghanistan, a Met department official said.
But other reports say the center was at Hoshiarpur in the Punjab state.
