SRINAGAR: Senior Hurriyat Conference (G) leader and chairman of Muslim League, Masrat Alam Bhat was Friday re-arrested from Central Jail in Kashmir despite orders for his release by the court.
The family members of Bhat told a local news agency, KNS that Additional Sessions Judge, Baramulla had granted bail to Masrat.
But, they said, as soon he was released from the Central Jail, state intelligence sleuths arrested him from the main gate and took him to Humhama.
“He has (now) been shifted to Baramulla jail,” they said.
Bhat was arrested by police on 18 October, 2010, during the peak of summer unrest and since then has been re-arrested a number of times soon after his periodic releases.
He is considered to be instrumental is forming the ‘Ragda’ slogan wherein youth would hold or seem to hold the Indian flag and trample it under their feet during protests that summer.
The separatist leader has been jailed for more than 13 years on various charges from time to time.
