SRINAGAR: A person was killed in a clash between two families over alleged kidnapping of a minor girl in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, police said on Monday.
A police spokesman said that a case of kidnapping was registered against Shabir Ahmad Parry who had allegedly kidnapped a minor girl from Dandmoh Chandoosa village.
“A case stands registered in Police Station Chandoosa against the kidnapper. However, the family of the kidnapper clashed with the victim’s family on Saturday,” the spokesman said.
“During the clashes an uncle of the kidnapped girl was killed,” he added.
The situation was brought under control by the police and a case of murder has been registered in this regard.
The police official was not clear whether the case has been registered against the family of the kidnapper.
“The body of the deceased was handed over to his relatives for last rites after the completion of all legal formalities,” the official added.
