SRINAGAR: The key link road between Kashmir and the rest of the country has been closed for traffic due to inclement weather, officials say.
They said the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway has been closed due to heavy snowfall in the frontal areas of the region.
Snowfall in the plains also began in the late afternoon today.
The Met section had issued warnings of heavy snowfall and rains on January 17 and 18.
Traffic authorities said vehicle aren’t being allowed to ply on the highway.
“Fresh announcement will be made only after the Met section will issue fresh update about the weather conditions,” they added.
