SRINAGAR, Nov 25: After he shook the country with his graft allegations against country’s top politicians in New Delhi, former India against Corruption activist, Arvind Kejriwal is all set to fire his ammo on the “civil, political and policing system” of Jammu and Kashmir state.
Kejriwal, who has emerged as the front runner political irritant of major political parties of the country, will be visiting Kashmir in December to launch an anti-corruption campaign, a local news agency KNS reported on Sunday.
“Corruption in politics has become an every day story in J&K,”, the agency quoted Kejriwal as having said from New Delhi.
J&K has been declared as the second most corrupt state in the country after Bihar by graft watchdog, Transparency International.
The acitivist said he was in touch with various members of civil society besides lawyers, retired bureaucrats, journalists and religious groups who, he added, have agreed to cooperate in his camapign in the State.
“Launching an anti-corruption campaign in J&K is need of the hour. Unless we fight against it, people especially unemployed youths and weaker sections of the society will not get justice”, said Kejriwal who has launched his own ‘Aam Aadmi Party’.
Meanwhile, the activist’s aides in kashmir say that they are working on a survey to compile a systematic data of the corruption and corrupt officials in the state.
“Some corrupt politicians and retired and sitting bureaucrats may be named along with the support of proof and evidence”, the agnecy quoted them as saying.
