SRINAGAR: A student from Kashmir has died at the English and Foreign Languages University campus in the south Indian state of Hyderabad, reports say.
Mudasir Kamran, a research scholar in his mid twenties, hails from south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
He was found hanging from the ceiling of his hostel room on Saturday evening, the PTI reports.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital by other students and reportedly died on the way.
Mudasir’s colleagues have told the Rising Kashmir newspaper over phone that a police team had come to arrest him during the daytime after he had had some altercation with another student.
The Hyderabad police said his body has been sent for post mortem to verify if it was really a suicide, adding that further investigations were on.
