SRINAGAR: The Delhi police has arrested a Kashmiri man who they claim is a militant of the Hizbul Mujahideen group.
Liaqat Ali, who hails from northern Kashmir, was on way to Delhi in a train when he was arrested from Gorakhpur Railway Station in Uttar Pradesh, police told the Press Trust of India.
A court has sent Khan to police custody for 15 days.
The PTI, quoting its sources, says Khan has told his interrogators that weapons were kept for him in a guest house near Jama Masjid area in Central Delhi.
With his arrest, the Delhi police say they have unearthed a plot to carry out a militant strike in the country capital ahead of Holi festival.
They also claim to have seized an AK-47 assault rifle, hand grenades, 60 rounds of ammunition, and some maps from the guest house.
They are looking out for more such militants who might have sneaked into the city.
