JAMMU: Kashmir’s ruling National Conference party has strongly condemned the killing of a youth in firing by paramilitary forces at Saidpora in Suburban Srinagar and said that it was “a cold blooded murder”.
They have also demanded a judicial inquiry into the incident “so that the CRPF personnel who opened fire are brought to book.”
Altaf Ahmed Wani was killed on Wednesday afternoon in firing by paramilitary CRPF in Saidapora area near Eidgah.
The party’s provinical president (Kashmir) Nasir Aslam Wani said the deceased was innocent and that the party could vouch for the fact that he was never involved in any stone pelting incident.
“Altaf was a staunch supporter of J&K National Conference and was close associate of the Hon’ble Speaker Mubarak Gul.
The antecedents of Altaf Ahmad Wani are very well known to the party,” a statement issued by NC said.
While expressing deep sympathies with the family of the bereaved, Nasir Aslam said his party will ensure justice to the family and will stand by the dependents of the deceased.
