SRINAGAR: Journalists and political leaders in Kashmir have condoled with Shahid Rashid, Chief Editor of the State Reporter, over the demise of his son in a road accident.
Faisal Rashid, 24, died after his car met with an accident on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway at Awantipora in south Kashmir.
He was critically injured in the head and was admitted at the Medical Institute, Soura. He passed on Sunday morning.
A student of Masters in Business Administration in New Delhi, Faisal was Mr Rashid’s only son.
His body was taken home at Tengpora for funeral prayers, but was buried at his ancestral graveyard at Parniwa, Budgam.
Ghulam Hassan Kaloo, Rashid Rahi, Rashid Rahil, Gulzar Ahmad, Aijaz Ahmad Khan and other social and media personalities were present.
Former Chief Minister, Farooq Abdullah has also offered his condolences to Mr Rashid through a statement.
The others who issued statements are: Mehbooba Mufti, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Mohammad Yasin, M Y Tarigami, Sajad Gani Lone, Bilal Gani Lone, Hakim Mohammad Yasin and Tanvir Sadiq.
