SRINAGAR: Admitting that there have been back-door entries into the Education Department, Minister for School Education Tara Chand said a committee has been set up to ascertain facts regarding such appointments.
The committee is yet to submit its report, but recruiting agencies have been directed to fill up around 18000 posts vacant in the department, he added.
“The file with the recommendations to fill up the vacuum has been sent to cabinet,” the deputy chief minister told a local news agency.
He said that District Boards will be set up, consisting one member from Sarva Shiksha Abhiyaan as its Chairman and another from district administration, to recruit the various posts at district level on fast track basis.
Assuring that quality education will be emphasized in every institution, Tara Chand added that transfer of teachers and other staff will be governed in a “proper manner”.
“Some influential persons get transfers of their own choice while some serve at the far flung areas for many years. We’re going to make three zones will govern the transfer policy on just basis,” he said.
The Deputy Chief Minister also underlined the need to regulate Private schools and said his ministry would need people’s cooperation in such an exercise.
