SRINAGAR, June 22: The continuous spree of gunfire between India and Pakistan ended two days ago but things are yet to return to normal.
Trade through Chakan-Da-Bagh point remains suspended causing huge losses to traders, more so as there is still no headway on the Flag Meeting sought by India.
Tension erupted between the two neighbours this month when at least two Indian soldiers were killed and four others wounded by firing along the Line of Control in past two weeks.
India blames Pakistan for provocation with “sniper shots”, but Pakistan has denied any involvement saying it could be an internal issue.
Since last week, no transaction has taken place under the cross-border trade.
“We have sought a meeting with the Pakistani officers but they are yet to give a response,” an army official said.
