SRINAGAR: Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Mohammad Yaseen Malik was taken into preventive custody alongwith about a dozen front leaders to foil a march against Kishtwar incident in the civil lines.
The JKLF has announced to take out a procession against Kishtwar incident from its party headquarters at Maisuma to Lal Chowk, the nerve centre of the summer capital today.
A front spokesman said Mr Malik and some other front leaders were arrested from party headquarters this morning.
However, official sources said it was a preventive measure to maintain law and order. Later in the afternoon, some front supporters, raising pro separatist slogans, tried to take out a procession from Maisuma. However, they were stopped and some of them were taken into preventive custody immediately.
