SRINAGAR: The All Jammu and Kashmir Panchayat Conference has urged New Delhi to give a “befitting reply” to Pakistan’s firing along the International border in the state.
Anil Sharma, General Secretary of the organization, has also asked all the political parties to “stand united against the hostile country in larger national interest and forget their political differences.”
Mr Sharma said India’s patience and friendly attitude for peace is often considered as weakness by the neighboring country but they (Pak) must be told that “we 125 billion Indians are one and united to guard the security, sovereignty and integrity of the country.”
The Panchayat leader also appealed the Prime Minister to take up the issue of “unprovoked firing” with his Pakistani counterpart and to honour the ceasefire pact.
He also demanded adequate relief measures for the displaced border people who are compelled to flee their homes due to unprovoked firing by Pakistan in the villages and farms on Indian Side.
