DODA: At least nine passengers have died and 13 injured, some of them seriously, after a bus rolled into a deep gorge in Doda district, police say.
They say the driver of the bus lost control at the wheels and skidded off the road at Bhalla in Bhaderwah tehsil.
Five died on the spot and four others succumbed to injuries in district hospital at Doda, PTI reported, adding that 13 passengers are still undergoing treatment.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has expressed grief over the incident and directed the district administration and the health department for providing all possible medical treatment to the injured.
Governor, NN Vohra and various other political leaders have also expressed shock over the incident.
