SRINAGAR: At least three villagers have been wounded after a live grenade went off at the Monday’s encounter site in south Kashmir’s Tral.
Three Hizbul Mujahideen militants, including a District Commander, and a policeman were killed yesterday in a gunfight that lasted for nearly twelve hours.
The house in which the militants were holed up was brought down by the security forces after the latter refused to surrender.
This afternoon as the debris was being cleared, a grenade which had not exploded during the gunfight, went off.
A police spokesman said three people have received minor injuries.
But a journalist in the area told FreePress said two of the wounded have been shifted to Medical Institute in Srinagar for treatment.
