JAMMU: A tenth class student allegedly committed suicide by consuming poisonous substance at his residence after he failed in high secondary school examinations in Ranbir Singh Pura area on city outskirts, police here today said.
“A student identified as Neeraj Kumar, yesterday consumed poisonous substance at his residence in R S Pura area,” police said adding that he was shifted to the hospital but declared as brought dead.
Police added that the student had appeared in the class tenth examination and got failed adding, “his parents used to scold him over his result following which he took this extreme step.”
A case has been registered and investigations are in progress
