SRINAGAR: Declaring that women education is very significant for building a sound society, Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Farooq Abdullah today said education to one female means education to her full family as a mother plays an important role in moulding her children’s future.
Dr Abdullah while speaking after inaugurating Auditorium-cum- Examination hall at Government Girls Higher Secondary Institute (HGSI), Sonwar said education enables the women folk in performing their duties successfully in their day to day life.
Women’s education leads directly to better reproductive health, improved family health, better economic growth for the family and society, Dr Abdullah added. It was encouraging that despite certain restrains, female literacy rate has been increasing day by day, he said.
Spread over 1893 square feet plinth area, the complex comprising of one main hall, one rehearsal cum back stage area and green room has been completed by utilising Rs 39 lakh out of MPLADS.
The single storied multi-purpose complex having seating capacity of 110 individuals, constructed by R&B Department, would be utilised for organising school functions and conducting examination.
Dr Abdullah highlighted the importance of education especially of female education in our life.
“Education helps the women to know their legal rights and inculcates a sense of self-confidence among them which is very important in present competitive world,” Dr Abdullah maintained.
