“Why don’t you blame the stone pelters? If I was (were) so keen to ‘curfew you’, I’d have done it without the stone throwing”, Abdullah wrote on twitter.
Omar was justifying the restrcitions on movement of people in at least six police station areas for the last three days.
Clashes broke out after the centuries-old shrine of Sheikh Syed Abdul Qadir Geelani was gutted in a fire incident.
Separatists had called for a shutdown on Tuesday, but most of the valley shut on Wednesday.
Grand Mufti of Kashmir, Basheeruddin Ahmed had called for a strike today (Thursday) and a public march to Khanyar in old city of Srinagar where the shrine is located.
Responding to a tweet that “in Kashmir CM stands for Curfew Minister”, the chief minister replied, “Enjoy yourselves. You have to find something to amuse yourselves, so have fun”.
