JAMMU: A Central Reserve Police Force(CRPF) jawan today died in an alleged accidental fire when the service weapon of another cop went off in Police Control Room in this winter capital of Jammu and Kashmir.
”A jawan identified as Akbar Ali, 60 Battalion, B Company received a bullet injury in his abdomen when the carbine rifle of JKAP policeman Mohan Lal went off accidentally inside the PCR,” a police source said here.
The jawan was immediately rushed to the hospital but he succumbed to his injuries.
The cop has been detained and the matter was being investigated, police added.
