SRINAGAR: Groupism in State Congress Party has once again come to fore as scores of workers loyal to Union Health Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad on Monday alleged that the rival lobby, of Prof Saifuddin Soz, did not allow them to speak during the JKPCC Convention.
They have alleged that they were even not allowed to enter the Convention Hall.
“Who told you that groupism had come to an end. I was aghast to see Congress members fighting with each other in full public glare. Even the Union Health Minister and Ambika Soni realized that all is not well in party,” Secretary PCC, Muhammad Sultan Mandoo told a local news agency, CNS.
Senior Congress leader, Surinder Singh Chini said that he was not allowed to speak during the convention just because he is an ‘Azad loyalist’.
“Among the 32 speakers, only two Azad loyalists, Muhammad Amin Bhat and Abdul Gani Vakil, were allowed to speak during the convention,” he said adding that Soz lobby was hell-bent to keep them at bay.
Pertinently, Congress workers came to blows on Saturday, at a meeting in Circuit House in Srinagar. Read More: Congress Workers Come to Blows in Kashmir
