SRINAGAR: Confusion about Eid ul Fitr in Saudi Arabia is over.
The Saudi Supreme Court announced that the Eid moon has not been sighted.
As such Wednesday will be the 29th day of Ramadan. The Eid thus falls either on Thursday or Friday there.
Earlier the Saudi’s supreme court had asked Muslims across the country to look for the new moon today evening, the Khaleej Times reported.
This after apprehensions that there had been a moon-sighting error at the start of the month.
People in the Indo-Pak subcontinent are normally one day behind Saudi Arabia in the lunar calendar.
Muslims across the world follow the lunar calendar which marks the onset of a new month based on the sighting of the new moon.
