SRINAGAR: Holding the ruling NC-Congress government accountable of all killings, the Communist Party of India(M) today demanded a white paper on all inquiries ordered by different governments into civilian killings and fake encounter in the Jammu and Kashmir.
Participating in the debate in the Assembly on recent killings in the state, CPI(M) member Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami said, “the way the matter is being discussed in the House, we are going on wrong path.”
Members are trying to score points for political reasons, he said adding that they all should unite and seek justice for those who lost their lives.
“Chief Minister is an authority, so he has responsibility to restore accountibility in every field, including among security forces,’ Mr Tarigami said adding if he fails to do so, then it was justifying the killings.
The CPI(M) leader said the sense of security and confidence among the common people is going down which is a great challenge before this house.
“Let us not try to score points by saying how many were killed in that or this government,” he said adding people are asking them why these killings have not stopped even now.
