SRINAGAR, July 26: An officer of the Border Security Force (BSF) and his subordinate are missing after the vehicle in which they were travelling was washed away by a flash flood in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Deputy Commandant Tarun Gupta and constable-driver Uday Kumar were travelling to Sundarbani from Nowshera sector early on Thursday morning, a BSF spokesperson said.
These men were on a patrol at the forward belt along the border between India and Pakistan when their vehicle was hit by floods while crossing a rivulet.
Rescue teams of army and BSF personnel were immediately put in action, but they found only the vehicle and not the men.
The rivulet flows into Bhimber area of the Pakistani part of divided Kashmir. The army is likely to contact its counter-parts across the border for tracing the BSF men.
